Honors in the Major

Honors in the major are awarded to graduating seniors whose UCSC grade point average is a 3.6 or higher in psychology courses (1-189). Highest honors in the major are reserved for students who meet the honors criteria as well as successful completion of a senior thesis, or whose UCSC grade point average is a 3.9 or higher in psychology courses at UCSC (PSYC 1-189).

Transfer courses and independent study courses (191-199) are discounted since it is difficult to make a comparative rating.

All majors are automatically reviewed for honors during the quarter in which they graduate from UCSC. Students must apply for graduation on the student portal by the campus deadline in order to be reviewed for honors. Click on the "Apply to Graduate" link in the "Academic Progress" menu of the student portal. Refer to quarterly deadline dates in the Schedule of Classes.
