Research Interests

I am on sabbatical in Fall 2022 and will not be accepting new graduate students in the upcoming admission cycle. I will be joining the Department of Psychology at Cornell University in Fall 2023.

My lab studies the development of morality from infancy to adulthood. Some of our work investigates early developments in orientations toward harmful and helpful behaviors. Other projects investigate complex moral reasoning and decisions about issues such as academic integrity and interpersonal harm. We are also conducting research on reasoning about religious practices among youth and adults. Our research combines naturalistic observations, behavioral experiments, and structured interviews.
